David Moyes to leave West Ham by mutual consent at end of season

The 61-year-old's contract is due to expire in the summer, and a mutual decision to part ways has been made.

The announcement follows the news that former Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui has agreed to replace Moyes earlier today.

In a statement, Moyes expressed his gratitude for his time at West Ham, highlighting the progress made during his tenure.

Moyes initially took over as West Ham manager in November 2017, was replaced by Manuel Pellegrini at the end of the season, and returned in December 2019 to steer the team away from relegation.

His most significant achievement was leading the club to victory in the Europa Conference League last season, marking the end of a 43-year trophy drought.

Lopetegui, who recently managed Wolves, is set to take over from Moyes following successful negotiations earlier in the day.
