De Jong strike earns PSV Eindhoven 1-1 draw with Dortmund in Champions League round of 16

Dortmund suffered a setback before the match even began at the Philips Stadion when goalkeeper Gregor Kobel sustained a muscle injury during warm-up.
As a result, Alexander Meyer was called upon to replace him at short notice. Meyer must have been relieved to see Malik Tillman miss the first significant chance of the game by dragging the ball wide.
However, Meyer's relief was short-lived as Donyell Malen, a former Dortmund player, scored the opening goal in the 24th minute. The Dutchman skillfully created space and fired the ball into the net with a deflection off the woodwork.
PSV continued to struggle in the first half when Johan Bakayoko failed to hit the target from Ismael Saibari's cross, leaving the visitors with a valuable lead going into halftime.
The hosts' fortunes changed dramatically after the referee awarded a penalty for Mats Hummels' challenge on Tillman. Dortmund defender Hummels protested, but VAR confirmed the decision, allowing Luuk de Jong to score his 28th goal of the season and equalize for PSV.
Dortmund fought back and threatened to regain the lead around the 70-minute mark, with Marius Wolf's improvised flick forcing Walter Benitez to make a desperate save.
As the match approached its end, Peter Bosz's team tried to take advantage of playing at home. Sergino Dest made a strong run from the left flank but was denied by the determined Meyer.
Despite their efforts, PSV had to settle for a disappointing draw at home, putting them at a disadvantage ahead of the return leg at Signal Iduna Park.
