Arsenal 0-1 Paris Saint-Germain: Dembele fires PSG past Arsenal in Champions League Semifinal First Leg

Ousmane Dembélé gave Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) a vital edge in their quest for a first-ever UEFA Champions League title, scoring the lone goal in a 1-0 first-leg victory over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.
PSG dominated early proceedings, with Dembélé netting in the 4th minute after Khvicha Kvaratskhelia set him up with a clever pullback. The French champions, under Luis Enrique, absorbed Arsenal's pressure in the second half and head to Paris with a narrow but crucial lead.
PSG's Quick Start Shocks Arsenal
Smoke from pre-match flares had barely cleared when Dembélé struck his eighth goal of the tournament, firing in off the post past goalkeeper David Raya. The visitors kept Arsenal on the back foot for much of the first half, with Kvaratskhelia and Achraf Hakimi causing havoc on the flanks.
Arsenal’s few first-half chances came late, with Gabriel Martinelli nearly connecting with a Bukayo Saka cross and forcing a save from Gianluigi Donnarumma just before halftime.
Second Half Fightback and Missed Chances
The Gunners thought they had equalized shortly after the break when Mikel Merino headed home from a Declan Rice free kick, but VAR ruled it offside after a lengthy check. Donnarumma was again PSG's hero, denying Leandro Trossardwith a fingertip save as Arsenal surged.
Despite late dominance from the hosts, PSG could have doubled their advantage. Bradley Barcola missed a one-on-one, and Gonçalo Ramos hit the crossbar in the closing minutes.
PSG’s English Conquest Continues
After falling 2-0 to Arsenal earlier in the group stage, PSG have transformed dramatically — eliminating Manchester City, Liverpool, and Aston Villa along the way. Now just 90 minutes from a final in Munich, they remain one of the most dangerous sides in Europe.
The return leg in Paris promises fireworks as Mikel Arteta's side looks to overturn the deficit.
