Djokovic's participation in the Davis Cup clash against Denmark uncertain due to muscle injury

Following a muscle injury sustained during his Australian Open semifinal against Alexander Zverev, Novak Djokovic's participation in the upcoming ATP tournament in Doha, scheduled for three weeks from now, is uncertain.
This uncertainty also casts doubt on his availability for Serbia's Davis Cup match against Denmark next Friday, January 31. Djokovic requires further medical evaluation before he can determine his timeline for recovery.
"Honestly, I am unsure when I will be fit to compete again. I need additional assessments. I am heading to Europe, where I will collaborate with my medical team and physiotherapists to expedite my return," Djokovic stated at a press conference after Friday's match.
While Djokovic did not explicitly mention the Davis Cup, he referred to his planned participation in the ATP tournament in Doha from February 17 to 22.
"I have a tournament in Doha on my schedule, but my ability to compete will depend on the speed of my recovery. I have previously managed to recover quickly, so we will see how my muscle responds to treatment," he added.
The Davis Cup encounter between Denmark and Serbia is set to take place at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen from January 31 to February 1.
In addition to Djokovic, Serbia has selected three players ranked within the top 100: Miomir Kecmanovic (51), Dusan Lajovic (80), and Hamad Medjedovic (98).
Denmark will feature Holger Rune, along with Elmer Møller (160) and August Holmgren (199) in the men's singles events.
The competition will consist of two singles matches on Friday in Copenhagen, followed by a doubles match and two additional singles on Saturday.
Djokovic retired from his match on Friday after losing the first set to Alexander Zverev, having already been troubled by an injury during his quarter-final victory over Carlos Alcaraz.
