Elena Rybakina into Wimbledon quarter-finals as Anna Kalinskaya retires

Rybakina, known for her powerful shots, was the only player left in the draw who had previously won the Venus Rosewater Dish. Despite an early break, the fourth seed quickly regained her composure and won the games.
As the highest-ranked player remaining in the tournament, Rybakina expressed that she does not feel any additional pressure as she progresses to the later stages. She will now face 21st seed Elina Svitolina in the quarter-finals.
The Moscow-born Kazakh player managed to break back and level the score at 3-3 after Kalinskaya experienced issues with her forearm. Despite receiving treatment, Kalinskaya was unable to stop Rybakina from winning the first set.
Rybakina credited her strong serve for her recent success and expressed her satisfaction with her performance in the last two matches. She mentioned that she enjoys playing at Wimbledon and hopes to continue her good form until the end of the tournament.
The Kazakh player managed to fend off a break point with a strong ace and then secured another break in the second set to take a 2-0 lead. However, Kalinskaya encountered more difficulties afterwards.
She lost another game, falling behind by a double break, and eventually decided to retire from the match, feeling disheartened.
Rybakina expressed her disappointment with the way the match ended, stating, "It's certainly not the outcome I had hoped for." She also acknowledged Kalinskaya's skills as a player and sympathized with her struggles due to injuries. Rybakina wished her opponent a quick and full recovery.
