England captain Jos Buttler to miss Australia T20 series with injury

Jos Buttler, the captain of England's white-ball team, will be unable to participate in the upcoming three-match T20 series against Australia due to a right calf injury, as announced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Thursday. In his absence, Phil Salt will assume the leadership role.
Buttler, who also missed The Hundred tournament, has been included in the squad for the five-match One-Day International (ODI) series against the same team later this month; however, his participation remains uncertain, according to the ECB.
Allrounder Jamie Overton, who made his Test debut in 2022, has been selected to replace Buttler in the T20 squad. Additionally, uncapped player Jordan Cox has been added to the ODI squad as a backup following his earlier inclusion in the T20 team.
The T20 series is scheduled to take place from September 11th to 15th, while the ODI series will occur from September 19th to 29th.
