Erling Haaland hits five past Luton Town as Man City cruise into the FA Cup quarter-finals

Manchester City have advanced to the FA Cup quarter-finals for the sixth consecutive year, following a 6-2 victory in the fifth round at Kenilworth Road. This match also marked the 50th occasion that Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne played together as teammates for City, and they celebrated this milestone with four collaborative goal involvements.
Manchester City showed great enthusiasm for their first FA Cup encounter with Luton since 1969. They wasted no time in taking the lead against the Hatters, with Matheus Nunes making a strong run into the hosts' half and setting up De Bruyne, who then assisted Haaland for the opening goal in a typical clinical English football style.
The same trio combined again in the 18th minute, with Haaland scoring his second goal after another precise pass from De Bruyne. The hat-trick was completed just before halftime, as Haaland chipped the ball over Krul following another assist from De Bruyne.
Despite being outplayed, Luton managed to score a stunning goal just before the break through Jordan Clark. The midfielder added another goal early in the second half, surprising City and narrowing the gap.
However, City responded swiftly, with Haaland scoring two more goals with assists from De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva. Kovačić then sealed the victory with a sensational long-range strike in the 72nd minute, as City continued their impressive FA Cup winning streak.
Luton's evening ended on a sour note, as they are unable to replicate their success from 30 years ago in reaching the FA Cup semi finals. Now, they face a tough challenge in avoiding relegation back to the EFL Championship.
