Everton 2-0 Nottingham Forest: Toffees defeat Forest to go five points clear of relegation zone

Everton secured a crucial 2-0 victory against Nottingham Forest at Goodison Park on Sunday, extending their lead over the relegation zone to five points with a game in hand.
Both teams have been struggling in recent weeks, facing points deductions and poor form as they battle to avoid relegation from the top division.
Nottingham Forest had an early chance with Neco Williams testing Jordan Pickford, but Everton responded well with Dominic Calvert-Lewin's header saved by Matz Sels.
Idrissa Gueye broke the deadlock for Everton with a well-placed shot from outside the box after Ola Aina cleared a cross into his path.
Despite some nervy moments, Pickford made a crucial save to deny Chris Wood and preserve Everton's lead.
Ashley Young was involved in three penalty appeals for Forest, but all were waved off, including a handball call on Callum Hudson-Odoi's cross and a misjudged tackle on the same player.
Nuno Espírito Santo would have been satisfied with his team's resurgence in the second half, however, Morgan Gibbs-White missed a crucial opportunity to equalize after failing to convert from a promising position.
The missed chance proved to be costly, as Everton extended their lead through McNeil. The former Burnley player combined effectively with Abdoulaye Doucouré, received the ball centrally, and managed to score from long range with a shot that hit the post.
This goal marked his 200th appearance in the Premier League and put Everton firmly on track to secure three valuable points.
Beto suffered a head injury after colliding with Gibbs-White towards the end of the match and had to be carried off the field on a stretcher. However, he reassured the crowd by giving a thumbs-up gesture as he left.
Although Dyche's team had some fortunate moments, they managed to hold on and secure only their second victory in the last 16 Premier League matches.
This outcome sees them move five points clear of the relegation zone, while Forest are just one point ahead of Luton Town in the dangerous drop zone with four games remaining in the season.
