Everton 2-2 Tottenham: Late Branthwaite header rescues point for hosts

Everton managed to equalize twice and salvage a 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur. However, despite their commendable comeback, the Toffees have failed to secure a victory in their last 11 Premier League matches against Spurs at Goodison Park.
Everton manager Sean Dyche had a poor record against Tottenham, with only two wins in 19 matches before today (D5, L12). It seemed like his streak of bad luck would continue as Tottenham took an early lead.
However, Everton fought back and showed resilience after conceding early. They struggled to create significant chances, but their determination paid off when Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored from close range, thanks to a well-placed header from James Tarkowski.
Tottenham quickly responded and regained their lead before halftime, with Timo Werner and James Maddison combining to set up Richarlison for a clinical finish from outside the box.
In the second half, Tottenham came out strong and created multiple opportunities, keeping Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford busy. But Pickford made some impressive saves, denying Pedro Porro, Werner, and Maddison.
Just when it seemed like Tottenham would secure the victory, Everton equalized through Jarrad Branthwaite, who headed in a set-piece at the back post.
The draw temporarily lifted Everton out of the relegation zone, while Tottenham remained in the top four but could drop down depending on other results this weekend.
