Everton confirm move to new stadium for the start of the 2025/2026 season

Everton will not play competitive games at their new stadium until the 2025-26 season, according to interim CEO Colin Chong, but he stressed that the delay is not due to construction delays.
Chong stated on the club's website that Everton Stadium is still on track to be completed by late 2024. The announcement follows Chong's meeting with the Fan Advisory Board.
Chong stated that in order to obtain the required Safety Certificate, test events must be held at the new stadium, and the events will "give Evertonians a chance to see and sample the new facilities."
Chong also stated that a year-long send-off celebration will take place before the Goodison Park gates close after nearly 134 years.
Everton are 17th in the table, four points clear of the relegation zone, after the Premier League docked them ten points for failing to follow profitability and sustainability rules (PSR) regarding losses. Everton has lodged an appeal.
Should Everton be relegated, a start date of 2025-26 in the new stadium would give them at least a season to fight their way back to the top flight.
