Fenerbahce officially present Jose Mourinho as new manager in front of huge crowd

Jose Mourinho, aged 61, has officially been introduced as the new coach of Fenerbahce, receiving an overwhelming reception. The club, located in Istanbul's Kadıkoy district, organized a special ceremony at their Sukru Saracoglu Stadium, which was attended by thousands of devoted fans.
Throughout Sunday, Fenerbahce flooded social media platforms with captivating photos and videos of Mourinho's arrival in Istanbul, as he wasted no time in exploring the city both by land and air.
Expressing his gratitude, Mourinho stated, "Hello everyone, I would like to begin by expressing my heartfelt appreciation for all the love and support I have received." The entire presentation can be viewed in its entirety here.
"I have felt an incredible amount of love ever since my name was associated with Fenerbahce. Usually, a coach is adored after achieving victories. However, in this case, I am already cherished even before those victories. This is a tremendous responsibility that I embrace wholeheartedly, and I promise you that I consider myself a part of this family, with this shirt being a second skin to me."
"After meeting President Ali Koc and comprehending his vision and projects, I was determined to join this club. I aspire to be the coach for all of you... From the moment I signed my contract, your dreams have become my dreams," Mourinho added.
Club chairman Ali Koc warmly welcomed Mourinho on behalf of the fans, stating, "I extend a warm welcome to our coach Mourinho on behalf of our loyal supporters. He is undeniably one of the greatest coaches in the history of world football. I am confident that he will achieve success here, just as he has done with his previous clubs."
Mourinho officially put pen to paper on his contract, accompanied by chairman Ali Koc, in the presence of a massive crowd of enthusiastic supporters. The arrival of 'The Special One' was celebrated with a dedicated song, while a fan who managed to invade the pitch received a photo and a warm smile from Mourinho as a token of appreciation. In addition, Mourinho further ignited the atmosphere by proudly waving the Fenerbahce jersey, captivating the crowd's attention.
Last season, Fenerbahce secured an impressive second place in the Süper Lig, accumulating a remarkable 99 points, just three points shy of the champions, Galatasaray. These 99 points would have set a new record for Fenerbahce in the Super Lig, if it weren't for their arch-rivals managing to stay one step ahead.
Following the conclusion of the season, Fenerbahce bid farewell to coach İsmail Kartal, who had completed his third tenure at the club after signing a one-year contract in June 2023.
Meanwhile, Mourinho had been without a club since his departure from AS Roma in January 2024. The announcement of Mourinho as Fenerbahce's new coach took place on Saturday night, coinciding with the Champions League final.
