Fenerbahce to consider withdrawing from Super Lig after players attacked

On Monday, the Super Lig club, Fenerbahce, announced that they are contemplating the possibility of withdrawing from the Turkish top flight. This decision comes after several of their players were subjected to attacks by Trabzonspor fans following their victorious away match over the weekend.

Fenerbahce has scheduled an Extraordinary General Assembly Meeting for April 2nd, as announced by the Board of Directors on Monday.

The meeting will address various topics, such as the response to the recent incident, which may involve the removal of our football Team A from the Super Lig, according to a club statement.

Earlier on Monday, FIFA President Gianni Infantino strongly criticized the incident, stating that violence within the Turkish Super Lig is not acceptable.

Fenerbahce currently holds the second position in the standings with 79 points from 30 matches, trailing Galatasaray by two points and leading Trabzonspor by 30 points.
