Ferrari's Leclerc thrilled about Hamilton's arrival but keeps focus on season finale

Charles Leclerc expressed that having Lewis Hamilton in the other half of the Ferrari garage next season "is going to be extraordinary."
The seven-time world champion Hamilton is set to conclude his illustrious 12-year tenure with Mercedes at this weekend's season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, before joining Leclerc at the Ferrari team.
"Competing alongside Lewis will be remarkable because he is an exceptionally skilled driver," Leclerc stated to AFP at the Yas Marina circuit on Thursday.
"He is the most accomplished driver in Formula 1 history, and it will be a significant challenge to measure my performance against his in the same vehicle.
"I am eager to learn from Lewis while also demonstrating my capabilities alongside him."
With Leclerc securing three victories and Carlos Sainz contributing two wins before Hamilton's arrival, Ferrari enters the season's 24th race with a slim chance of clinching their first constructors' title since 2008.
The renowned team currently sits in second place, trailing McLaren by 21 points.
"It is still achievable," remarked the Monaco native.
"However, we must remain realistic; we need to perform exceptionally well and hope that McLaren encounters difficulties.
"We cannot predict McLaren's performance, but we can focus on our own efforts and strive to give our all to secure the title."
Leclerc acknowledged the advancements the team has made under the leadership of their French team principal, Fred Vasseur.
"Fred has infused his personality into the team, which is quite challenging at a prestigious organization like Ferrari," he noted.
"His exceptional composure has been crucial, and I believe that was the primary change needed at Ferrari.
"He remains unaffected by the surrounding pressures, and that is significantly benefiting us at this time."
Leclerc, who will fulfill "a dream" by participating in free practice with his younger brother Arthur on Friday, is optimistic about the future of the Italian team.
"I am absolutely convinced that if any team is destined to win the world title, it is Ferrari," he asserted.
Our current position is optimal, and we owe this achievement to Fred, our team members, and the individuals joining us to enhance our capabilities.
Leclerc is also eagerly anticipating the brotherly collaboration set for Friday.
"When we were 10, we used to compete against each other on the game console, both driving Ferraris," he remarked.
"This time, it will be a genuine competition, which is fantastic."
