FIFA Club World Cup 2025: Winners to receive up to $125 million in prize money

The upcoming 32-team FIFA Club World Cup, set to take place in the United States from June 14 to July 13, will offer a maximum prize of $125 million for the tournament champions, FIFA confirmed on Wednesday. With a total prize pool of $1 billion, the competition promises significant financial rewards at a time when clubs are navigating strict financial regulations.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino emphasized that all revenue generated from the tournament would be allocated to club football, with none retained by FIFA or taken from its reserves, which are designated for global football development across 211 member associations.

Approximately half of the $1 billion will be distributed among all 32 participating clubs, with payments determined by sporting and commercial criteria. This means powerhouses like Manchester City and Real Madrid will receive a larger share than smaller teams, following a model FIFA developed in collaboration with the European Club Association.

An additional $475 million will be awarded based on performance, meaning teams that secure the most victories across the potential seven-match campaign will earn greater financial rewards, with the champions eligible for up to $125 million.

However, the revamped tournament has raised concerns about player welfare, with its expanded format reducing the offseason break for many athletes. England captain Harry Kane acknowledged the growing demands on players, stating: "Of course it's another summer where you don't really have a break. I think we're getting used to it. There's nothing really we can do about it."

Despite the concerns, Kane remains optimistic about the competition’s prestige and Bayern Munich’s ambitions. Speaking to FIFA.com, he said: "To win it. We're one of the best teams in the world, without a doubt, so every tournament we go into, the idea is to win."

As excitement builds for the tournament, clubs will be eyeing not only the prestigious title but also the financial windfall that comes with success on the global stage.
