France bounce back in Six Nations with dominant 73-24 win over Italy

France revitalized their Six Nations campaign with an impressive display, securing an 11-try victory over Italy with a score of 73-24 on Sunday, thereby maintaining their pursuit of tournament leaders Ireland.
Under the guidance of Fabien Galthie, the French team showcased their dominance, with standout performances from scrum-half Antoine Dupont and full-back Leo Barre, who both scored twice in their first tournament appearance. This bonus point win sets the stage for a significant encounter against Ireland in Dublin in two weeks.
Les Bleus find themselves three points behind Ireland after a strong recovery from their recent narrow defeat to England.
While France struggled with missed opportunities at Twickenham, they were unstoppable in their offensive play, buoyed by a large and enthusiastic traveling crowd in the Italian capital.
Italy initially took the lead with a converted try from Tommaso Menoncello in the 11th minute and remained within four points when Juan Ignacio Brex capped a brilliant team effort with a try under the posts in the 27th minute.
However, France, having already scored through Mickael Guillard and Peato Mauvaka, quickly shifted into a higher gear.
They overwhelmed Italy with additional tries from Dupont and Barre, along with contributions from Paul Boudehent, Gregory Alldritt, Louis Bielle-Biarrey, Theo Attissogbe, and Pierre-Louis Barassi.
Paolo Garbisi's try in the 60th minute served merely as a consolation for Italy, who remain three points ahead of Wales in the fight to avoid finishing last.
Despite the heavy defeat, this was not Italy's worst loss in the tournament's history, as they previously suffered an 80-23 defeat at Twickenham in 2001, which remains their most significant setback.
