Frosinone 1-2 Juventus: Juve score late winner to keep pressure on Inter at the top of Serie A

Juventus has stretched their undefeated streak to 12 games, making it the longest ongoing run in Serie A. They secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Frosinone, bringing them within a single point of the league leaders, Inter Milan, even if only temporarily.
Simone Romagnoli demonstrated his leadership as the captain of the home team in the absence of Luca Mazzitelli by intercepting Weston McKennie's pass intended for Arkadiusz Milik in the seventh minute. This interception prevented a potential goal for the visitors and showcased Romagnoli's importance to the team.
Despite the pressure from the opposing team, 18-year-old Kenan Yildiz made an impressive debut for the senior side by scoring his first goal for the visitors. Yildiz skillfully maneuvered past Ilario Monterisi and Pol Lirola before slamming the ball into the net at the near post.
Yildiz almost provided an assist shortly after his goal, but Filip Kostic failed to capitalize on the opportunity.
Due to an injury to Alex Sandro, Massimiliano Allegri was forced to make an early substitution, bringing on former Frosinone defender Federico Gatti. Frosinone also had to make an unexpected substitution as Lirola limped off and was replaced by Jaime Baez.
In the 36th minute, Wojciech Szczesny was finally tested when he made a diving save to tip away a shot from Matias Soule, one of the three Juventus loanees playing against them in this match. On the other end of the pitch, Kostic missed another promising chance as he shot high and wide when facing home goalkeeper Stefano Turati.
Frosinone manager Eusebio Di Francesco emphasized the importance of a strong start in the second half, and his team responded by equalizing in the 51st minute. Monterisi's precise pass released Baez, who calmly slipped the ball under Szczesny to score his first-ever goal in Italy's top flight.
In an attempt to change the game's momentum, Allegri made a triple substitution, including the introduction of Dusan Vlahovic. However, another shot from Soule narrowly missed Szczesny's far post.
Vlahovic wasted no time getting involved in the action when Allegri made the decision to bring on Timothy Weah in search of a winning goal. However, it was a substitute from Frosinone who came close next, as Szczesny stretched to divert Abdou Harroui's curler over the bar. McKennie then showcased his skills with an acrobatic volley that rattled the woodwork, as both teams sensed the opportunity to secure three points.
Right on schedule, Juventus seized the moment when McKennie delivered a well-placed cross that Vlahovic emphatically headed home in the 81st minute.
With the victory secured, Juventus now enter their final match of 2023 against Roma next Saturday with a confident and positive mindset. On the other hand, Frosinone's winless streak in the league extends to four games - their longest period without a victory since returning to the top-flight.
