Fulham 1-3 Liverpool: Reds hit three past hosts to go joint top

Liverpool secured a 3-1 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday, bringing them level on points with Premier League leaders Arsenal.
Following a disappointing week that included their elimination from the Europa League and a setback in the title race, Liverpool faced immense pressure to bounce back in the capital.
They came close to a perfect start when Luis Diaz narrowly missed connecting with Trent Alexander-Arnold's excellent delivery.
In a match that lacked quality, it was Alexander-Arnold who broke the deadlock with a moment of brilliance. His 25-yard free-kick found the top left corner, leaving Fulham's defense helpless.
From that point on, Liverpool seemed to find their rhythm. Cody Gakpo had a chance to double their lead, but his attempt went wide.
The first half was evenly contested, and it was no surprise that the teams went into halftime level.
Just before the break, Timothy Castagne capitalized on a loose ball and struck it into the bottom left corner, leaving Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp contemplating how to change the game's momentum.
However, Klopp decided to make no changes, and his decision paid off when Ryan Gravenberch finished off a swift move to put Liverpool back in the lead within ten minutes of the second half.
Although a one-goal advantage is never comfortable, Liverpool always seemed likely to score a third goal. And they did just that when Diogo Jota broke through and slotted the ball beneath Bernd Leno into the corner of the net.
Liverpool, fully aware of the significance of securing three points to maintain their chances in the title race, faced little difficulty in successfully concluding the game, despite a goal from Tom Cairney.
This victory proved to be crucial for the Reds, as they now have three valuable points in their possession before the upcoming Merseyside derby in the middle of the week. The anticipation for this round is heightened by the fact that all three contenders for the title will be competing.
In contrast, Fulham experienced a challenging afternoon on the field. However, since they have already secured their position in the top-flight league, their primary objective has already been accomplished.
