Galatasaray midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo joins Atalanta on loan

Atalanta BC has officially announced the acquisition of Nicolo Zaniolo from Galatasaray on a loan deal until June 30, 2025. The agreement includes a buy-out clause and a mandatory purchase option based on specific criteria.

Galatasaray revealed that they will receive an initial 6.4 million euros (£5.4m) for the loan, with the potential to rise to 15.5 million euros (£13.1m) if Atalanta decides to exercise the buy-out clause.

Zaniolo, who has earned 19 caps for Italy, spent the previous season on loan at Aston Villa in the English Premier League. Prior to that, he played for Roma in Serie A from 2018 to 2023, netting 13 goals in 94 league appearances. Unfortunately, he was sidelined for the Euros due to a left foot injury.
