Giannis, Bucks hold off Bulls in OT thriller

Brook Lopez and Malik Beasley both contributed 19 points, while Bobby Portis scored 17 for the Bucks, who recently suffered a loss to Indiana in the semifinals of the In-Season Tournament. On the other hand, DeMar DeRozan delivered an impressive performance with 41 points, accompanied by Coby White's 33 points for the Chicago Bulls, who had previously won four consecutive games. Notably, DeRozan also showcased his playmaking abilities by recording 11 assists. This feat has only been achieved by one other Bulls player, Michael Jordan, back in the 1992-93 season.

Although Torrey Craig's free throw briefly put Chicago ahead 119-118 in overtime, the Bucks swiftly responded with a seven-point run, sealed by Antetokounmpo's layup, securing a 126-119 lead with two minutes left. However, Milwaukee faltered at the free-throw line towards the end, missing three of six attempts. Ultimately, DeRozan's dunk narrowed the gap to 131-129 with 12 seconds remaining, but Damian Lillard's two successful free throws in the final seconds secured a 133-129 victory for Milwaukee.

Despite the Bulls' resilient effort, Bucks coach Adrian Griffin commended his team's ability to come up with crucial defensive stops when needed. Antetokounmpo particularly found his rhythm in the fourth quarter, shooting 5 of 7 from the field and going 5 of 6 from the free-throw line. In overtime, he made his lone shot and converted 3 of 4 free throws.

The Milwaukee Bucks and the Chicago Bulls engaged in a thrilling game that went into overtime. With just four seconds left in regulation, DeMar DeRozan made a clutch floater to tie the game at 118. Prior to that, Damian Lillard sank one of two free throws, giving the Bucks a slim 118-116 lead with 12 seconds remaining.

Giannis Antetokounmpo stepped up and calmly knocked down two free throws, extending the Bucks' lead to 117-112 with 1:11 left on the clock. However, the Bulls fought back as Patrick Williams threw down a dunk and DeRozan converted a pair of free throws, bringing the score to a close 117-116.

Bulls coach Billy Donovan expressed his pride in his team's relentless effort and resilience throughout the game. Despite facing double-digit deficits, the Bulls managed to mount several comebacks. Unfortunately, they couldn't capitalize on some opportunities around the basket during overtime.

After trailing 74-65 at halftime, the Bulls narrowed the gap to 91-89 thanks to Jevon Carter's clutch 3-pointer at the end of the third quarter.

In the opening half, the Bucks displayed an impressive shooting performance, with a shooting percentage of 57.8%. Milwaukee successfully converted 26 out of 45 attempts, including 12 out of 20 shots from beyond the three-point line.

Although Antetokounmpo only took two shots during this period, he managed to make one of them. However, his contribution extended beyond scoring, as he recorded all six of his assists.

Griffin praised Antetokounmpo's performance, highlighting his ability to move the ball, share it with teammates, and make the right plays. As a seasoned player, Antetokounmpo knew when to assert himself, and Griffin commended his efforts in the second half.

Looking ahead, the Bulls will be hosting the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday, while the Bucks will have a home game against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday.
