Giddey signs four-year, $100 Million extension with Chicago Bulls

Chicago Bulls guard Josh Giddey secured his future on Tuesday, signing a four-year, $100 million contract extension following a breakout 2024-25 campaign. The 22-year-old averaged 14.6 points along with career highs of 8.1 rebounds, 7.2 assists and 1.2 steals across 70 games last season.

Giddey’s all-around impact included seven triple-doubles and 30 double-doubles after being acquired from the Oklahoma City Thunder in the trade that sent Alex Caruso the other way. Entering training camp as a restricted free agent, he had the option of accepting the Bulls’ $11.14 million qualifying offer and heading into unrestricted free agency in 2026, but instead committed long-term to Chicago.

Oklahoma City moved on from Giddey due to questions about his perimeter shooting and off-court scrutiny over allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a minor. Both NBA and Newport Beach police investigations closed without charges, and Giddey responded on the court by shooting a career-best 37.8% from three-point range, draining a career-high 105 triples for the Bulls.

Originally drafted sixth overall by the Thunder in 2021, the Australian guard has carved out a place in NBA history with his versatile production. Through 280 career games, he has averaged 14.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 0.9 steals. With 3,942 points, 2,100 rebounds and 1,703 assists, Giddey joins an elite group of just eight players to reach those minimum totals in their first four seasons—alongside Larry Bird, Luka Doncic, Grant Hill, LeBron James, Magic Johnson, Oscar Robertson and Ben Simmons.
