Granada 0-1 Atletico Madrid: Morata lone strike wins it for Los Colchorenos as they sneak past hosts

Atletico Madrid secured their first victory on the road in the league since late October, capitalizing on their recent triumph in the Madrid Derby cup tie. They emerged triumphant with a 1-0 win against Granada, who are currently facing difficulties in LaLiga, having suffered their 10th defeat in 13 competitive matches.
Granada had a surprisingly strong start to the match, controlling possession for much of the opening period. Atletico Madrid, who had been struggling on the road in LaLiga, seemed to be spurred on by their losing streak and started to find success on the counter.
Despite some promising play from Granada, it was Atletico's talisman Antoine Griezmann who came closest to scoring, hitting the bar from the edge of the area.
The second half saw both teams come out with renewed energy, and chances were created at both ends of the pitch.
It was Rodrigo De Paul's introduction that made a significant impact on Atletico's midfield play, leading to the opening goal as Griezmann provided a cross for Alvaro Morata to head into the far corner.
Although Atletico continued to dominate for a period of time, Granada weathered the storm and started to pose a threat as the match neared its conclusion.
Despite their efforts, they were unable to find an equalizer, with Axel Witsel making a crucial block to deny Bruno Mendez's shot following a corner.
Diego Simeone will be pleased with the result, as it only adds to his impressive record against Granada. He will hope that this victory sets the tone for their upcoming away match against their arch-rivals, Real Madrid.
It appears increasingly improbable that his team will have the opportunity to face the Andalusians in the upcoming season.
Almería, in particular, has suffered more losses and achieved fewer victories, making it a gloomy campaign for the Nazaries upon their return to LaLiga.
