Tomas Machac, achieved a remarkable victory over Bulgaria's third seed Grigor Dimitrov, winning with scores of 6-7 (5), 6-4, 6-3 in a match that lasted two hours and 31 minutes.

Despite Dimitrov outpacing Machac in aces with a tally of 12 to 9 and matching him with 32 winners, he struggled with 21 unforced errors throughout the match. This defeat places Dimitrov's qualification for the Nitto ATP Finals at risk, as he currently occupies the 10th position in the race for one of the eight available spots.
