Haaland signs historic 10-year Manchester City contract extension through 2034

Manchester City's prolific striker Erling Haaland has committed his long-term future to the Premier League champions, signing a landmark 10-year contract extension that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2034. The Norwegian superstar, who has dominated English football since his arrival, will remain with the club until he turns 34.

"I am super proud and happy, and I am looking forward to staying here for a long time," Haaland said in a statement, describing it as "an easy decision". "Now I can fully focus on getting better because I am going to stay here for such a long time."

Since joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2022, Haaland's impact has been nothing short of phenomenal. The Golden Boot winner has amassed an incredible 111 goals in just 126 appearances, including a record-breaking 36 Premier League goals in his debut season. His extraordinary performances helped City secure their historic treble - Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League - in his first season.

With 79 league goals in 87 appearances, the 24-year-old goalscoring machine is already on track to challenge Alan Shearer's long-standing Premier League record of 260 goals. This season alone, Haaland has added 16 more goals to his impressive tally, following last season's 27-goal contribution to City's fourth consecutive league title.

The extension also reinforces Haaland's commitment to working under Pep Guardiola, who recently extended his own contract until 2027. Speaking about his manager, Haaland said: "I have improved a lot. It is so nice to work with him. Not only because he is the best, but he is also the most hard-working person I have ever seen. It is hard and it is tough because he demands a lot, but that is what I want."

This landmark deal comes amid the ongoing investigation into City's alleged Premier League financial rule breaches, for which the club maintains their innocence as they await the verdict expected this year.
