Harry Kane brace powers Bayern Munich to 5-1 Champions League win over Pafos

Bayern Munich maintained their perfect start to the season with a commanding 5-1 victory over Cypriot side Pafos at the Stelios Kyriakides Stadium in the UEFA Champions League. Harry Kane once again delivered on the European stage, scoring twice to lead the Bavarians in a one-sided encounter.

As expected, Bayern started with intensity. Luis Díaz tested goalkeeper Neofytos Michail early on with a close-range strike, before Kane came inches away from a spectacular opener, rattling the post with an overhead kick.
It didn’t take long for the breakthrough. Michael Olise slipped a clever ball into Kane’s path, and the England captain made no mistake, guiding a first-time effort into the far corner to give Bayern the lead.
Raphael Guerreiro doubled the advantage shortly after, finishing delicately over Michail following a slick passing sequence. Nicolas Jackson, who had assisted Guerreiro’s goal, then scored his first for Bayern, calmly slotting Olise’s pass into the bottom corner.

The hosts looked out of the contest, but Mislav Orsic provided a moment of brilliance. After Kim Min-Jae surrendered possession, Orsic unleashed a thunderous strike from distance into the top corner, leaving Manuel Neuer with no chance. It was a rare highlight for Pafos, who had seen Jajá’s earlier effort comfortably saved by the Bayern captain.
Kane at the Double
Bayern quickly reasserted their dominance. Kane struck again with a dazzling solo run into the box, coolly finishing past Michail to restore Bayern’s three-goal cushion before halftime.
The second half followed a familiar script, with Michail producing several excellent saves to keep the scoreline respectable. He denied Olise, Aleksandar Pavlovic, and Jackson, but Bayern’s relentless pressure eventually told. When Michail parried Jackson’s shot, Olise pounced on the rebound, rifling the ball into the top corner for Bayern’s fifth.
Despite late chances from Serge Gnabry and Jackson, both of whom struck the woodwork, Bayern had to settle for five goals.

For Pafos, the result was a sobering reminder of the challenges at Europe’s highest level. After holding Olympiacos to a spirited 10-man draw on Matchday One, their four-game unbeaten run in all competitions came to a crashing halt.
Bayern, meanwhile, extended their remarkable record in the competition. The German champions are now unbeaten in their last 16 Champions League games against opponents they are facing for the first time, a testament to their adaptability and dominance on the continental stage.
With Kane firing, Olise shining, and Jackson opening his Bayern account, Thomas Tuchel’s side looks like one of the most dangerous outfits in Europe this season.
