Heidenheim 0-0 Borussia Dortmund: Dortmund held to first goaless league draw since 2019

Borussia Dortmund drew 0-0 at Heidenheim on Friday, their first Bundesliga draw since 2019, keeping them in fourth place.
After three league victories in 2024, the visitors, despite having nearly 70% possession, were unable to break through the Heidenheim defence and rarely found themselves in scoring position.
Donyell Malen had an effort ruled out for offside in the first half, but Dortmund had no real attacking punch after the break, despite three substitutions on the hour, until Niclas Fuellkrug's shot in the 86th minute was palmed away.
In stoppage time, Heidenheim had a huge chance of their own, but Kevin Sessa's header went narrowly wide.
Dortmund, whose last goalless draw was against Schalke 04 in October 2019, are now level on 37 points with VfB Stuttgart, who lead on goal difference in third place and face Freiburg on Saturday.
Bayer Leverkusen lead with 49 points and travel to Darmstadt 98, while second-placed Bayern Munich, with 47, host Borussia Moenchengladbach.
