Hellas Verona 1-3 AC Milan: In-form Rossoneri make it five straight wins with victory over Verona to consolidate second spot

AC Milan achieved a remarkable seventh consecutive victory over Hellas Verona, emerging triumphant with a 3-1 scoreline away from home. This impressive win also marked their fifth consecutive away victory in the top-flight since May 2022.
AC Milan's main objective now is to secure the best position among the teams trailing behind their city rivals, Inter, who are leading the Serie A. Although they face tough competition, Milan can only focus on their own performance. They came close to a perfect start when Fikayo Tomori narrowly missed scoring from Theo Hernandez's delivery.
Milan continued to dominate the game in the early stages and came even closer to taking the lead later in the first half. However, Lorenzo Montipo's exceptional save denied Noah Okafor's acrobatic attempt, as the ball hit the crossbar.
The crossbar was rattled again moments later when Christian Pulisic found space on the inside right, but his shot rebounded off the underside of the bar.
Finally, just before halftime, Milan's persistence paid off. Theo Hernandez made a determined run into the area, evaded two challenges, and delicately chipped the ball over the advancing Montipo.
Milan was always aware that a one-goal lead would make them uneasy, but they quickly extended their advantage after halftime. Montipo's inability to fully clear Okafor's shot allowed Pulisic to score easily.
In addition to the lead, Milan had the added motivation of securing back-to-back clean sheets against Verona for the first time since May 1992.
However, their hopes of achieving this were dashed with less than 30 minutes left in the game. Tijjani Noslin unleashed a powerful strike from 25 yards out, finding the corner of Mike Maignan's goal.
This goal made for a tense ending to the match, but the visitors had a golden opportunity to regain their two-goal lead. Rafael Leao broke free towards the goal, but his shot missed the target.
Fortunately for Milan, they didn't have to wait long to restore their two-goal cushion. Samuel Chukwueze scored a fantastic volley from the edge of the area.
With that goal, Milan sealed the victory and had a relatively comfortable time securing the three points, which kept them in second place.
Verona, however, finds themselves in a much more dismal situation, with only a slim two-point lead over the relegation zone and a strong possibility of being demoted to Serie B.
