Holland scores 99-yard Hail Mary pick-six as Dolphins defeat Jets 34-13

The Miami Dolphins defeated the New York Jets 34-13 on Friday in East Rutherford, N.J., thanks to a stunning interception return by Jevon Holland and another outstanding performance by Tyreek Hill.

Hill had nine receptions for 102 yards and his league-leading tenth touchdown catch. Tua Tagovailoa finished the game 21-of-30 for 243 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Jaylen Waddle had eight catches for 114 yards and Raheem Mostert rushed for 94 yards and two touchdowns.

Tim Boyle made his first start for the Jets, completing 27 of 38 passes for 179 yards and a touchdown pass to Garrett Wilson as New York (4-7) fell for the fourth time in a row. Brandin Echols had an interception return as they were outgained 395 yards to 159.

Boyle took over after Zach Wilson was demoted by the Jets. Meanwhile, Aaron Rodgers maintains that he will return from his Achilles injury before the end of the season.

Prior to Holland's game-changing play, Echols intercepted Tagovailoa and returned it 30 yards for a touchdown with 58 seconds remaining in the first half to pull the Jets to within 10-6.

Then, with two seconds remaining, D.J. Reed intercepted Tagovailoa at the Jets' 49-yard line. But all that did was set the Jets up for disaster.

Boyle dropped back and attempted a Hail Mary pass toward the end zone, but Holland intercepted the ball at the 1 and ran upfield. Holland snuck past New York offensive linemen and easily eluded Boyle near the 10 yard line to complete the 99-yard return and give the Dolphins a 17-6 lead at halftime.

The play dealt a huge blow to the Jets, who were on the verge of trailing by just four points despite outgaining the opposition 214-47 in the first half.

Miami extended its lead to 14 points with a 54-yard field goal by Jason Sanders to begin the third quarter.

New York had 50 yards entering the fourth quarter, while Miami led in first downs 18-2.

Mostert scored on a 14-yard run on the first play of the fourth quarter to make it 27-6. This completed a 9:03-long, 15-play, 92-yard drive.

With 4:37 remaining, Boyle hit Wilson on a 1-yard pass for New York's 10th offensive touchdown of the season.

With 3:35 remaining, Mostert scored on a 34-yard run.
