I want to win Dutch Grand Prix but 'not desperate' - Lando Norris

Lando Norris, aged 24, has not yet achieved a victory from pole position; however, the McLaren driver expressed that he does not feel any urgency following his fourth pole position secured at the Dutch Grand Prix on Saturday.
The only Formula 1 victory for the British driver occurred in Miami in May, where he started from fifth on the grid.
This season, Norris began on pole in both Spain and Hungary, finishing second to Red Bull's Max Verstappen and his teammate Oscar Piastri, who will line up directly behind him on the grid for Sunday’s race at Zandvoort.
His inaugural pole position in Russia in 2021 resulted in a seventh-place finish, as he remained on slick tires for too long during rainy conditions.
"I aspire to win, but I do not feel desperate. I understand that you are looking for a sensational quote, but I will not provide that," Norris stated to reporters after becoming the first driver to outpace Verstappen for pole at the latter's home race.
"I am committed to winning and am putting in significant effort towards that goal. Our entire team shares this ambition. While we all desire victory, we are not desperate, as desperation does not yield positive results," he continued.
"I am exerting considerable effort... I dedicated myself during the winter and summer, and some of that work is beginning to show results, but tomorrow presents the most significant opportunity to demonstrate that. Thus, I am striving for a win, but I am not desperate."
Norris is known for being particularly self-critical, often taking responsibility for errors and measuring his performance against an ideal standard.
Although he has made mistakes this season, McLaren has also acknowledged its role in instances where they have fallen short in supporting him.
"I recognize that my starts have not been my strong suit. They have not been poor, to be honest. I still rank among the best average starters; I have simply missed a few races, which has made it appear worse than it is," he remarked.
"Each instance has involved different factors, but I am confident that I have invested the necessary effort to improve my starts, and tomorrow is a fresh opportunity."
Verstappen, who is both a close friend and a fierce competitor, anticipates a challenging contest ahead.
Lando possesses remarkable speed, which is essential for success in Formula 1, and it is precisely this attribute that enables him to compete at such a high level, remarked the three-time world champion, who currently leads by 78 points.
"With time, his performance will only improve as he gains more experience. While I have been contending for world championships for a longer duration, when the team operates effectively, the car performs optimally, and the driver is in top form, success naturally follows."
