India makes remarkable comeback to take lead against Bangladesh

India concluded their innings at 376 all out, showcasing an impressive recovery from a challenging position of 34-3, and subsequently dismantled the Bangladesh top order to gain an advantage in the opening Test match between the two nations on Friday.
After dominating the initial two sessions on Thursday, Bangladesh found themselves in a precarious situation at 26-3 by lunchtime on the second day of the match held at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium.
Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto (15) and Mushfiqur Rahim (four) were at the crease, with Bangladesh trailing by 350 runs.
Jasprit Bumrah made an immediate impact in the first over of the Bangladesh innings, as Shadman Islam, misjudging a delivery, saw it hit the top of the off stump.
Akash Deep claimed the wickets of Zakir Hasan and Mominul Haque with consecutive deliveries, narrowly missing a hat-trick when Mushfiqur defended well.
Earlier, Ravindra Jadeja was dismissed for his overnight score of 86 as India resumed their innings at 339-6.
Although Jadeja fell short of a century, his partnership of 199 runs with Ravichandran Ashwin (113) proved crucial in rescuing India from a precarious position.
Hasan Mahmud was the standout bowler for Bangladesh, taking 5 wickets for 83 runs, while Taskin Ahmed contributed with 3 wickets for 55 runs, effectively dismantling the Indian tail.
