Italian Serie A Week 10 Preview

Serie A offers exciting encounters this weekend! Inter Milan face Roma, reigning champions Napoli face AC Milan and Lazio face red-hot Fiorentina. We promise to keep you on your toes in Week 10 of the competition.

Friday, October 27th Genoa vs Salernitana (8.45 p.m.)

Genoa, unfortunately, lost 2-0 in their last game against Atalanta, although they played well. Going into this game on the back of two consecutive defeats will hurt the team's confidence, but they will use the energy released by the home fans to get back to winning ways. Salernitana has failed to reach Serie A standards, sitting in 19th place with four points and yet to record a win after nine games. In the last game, they managed to grab a much-needed point that could fuel their fire in the fight for victory. Let's go back to the home win here.

Saturday, October 28th

Sassuolo vs Bologna (3 p.m.)

Sassuolo has not won in the last three games. The loss in their last game means they drop to 13th place with 10 points after nine games. A great performance is expected from the Neroverdi as they look to get their first home win after two consecutive home defeats. Bologna continues to perform excellently and is currently unbeaten in their last five games. Two early goals from Lewis Furguson and Lorenzo De Silvestri were enough to secure victory in the previous game and the team will be looking to follow up this impressive win with another important away win. At this point, Bologna has the upper hand between the two teams and gets the away win.

Lecce vs Turin (18:00)

Lecce started the season well, but could not maintain this level. After two consecutive defeats, they managed to pick up a point in a 1-1 draw against Sassuolo. The Giallorossi desperately need to win again and will use this game to get back on track. Torino has not won in five games and come into this game after two consecutive defeats. The Maroons still have a lot of work to do to get back to the top form. That's why they need to focus more on what's important and work together if they want to put Lecce in their place. Both teams are playing poorly, but I see that Lecce has a chance of winning.

Juventus vs. Verona (8:45 p.m.)

Juventus moved up to third place after an impressive 1-0 win over league rivals AC Milan. The pride and confidence with which Juve are currently playing makes them a serious opponent. The Bianconeri are on a roll and will be desperate to get their third win in a row and their fourth win at home. Verona are currently in trouble and have only picked up one point in their last three league games. A creative counterattack coupled with a disciplined defense will be what the Gialloblu will need as they make their way to the Allianz Stadium to take on the experienced Juventus. Juventus will win by more than 2.5 goals.

Sunday, October 29th

Cagliari vs Frosinone (1.30 p.m.)

Cagliari is in last place with three points after nine games played and is yet to win this season. Ultimately, accurately executing a well-planned game plan is Rossoblu's best way to maximize their chances of a positive result. Frosinone is responsible for its downfall due to its inconsistency. The 2-1 loss to Bologna does not reflect their performance as they controlled most parts of the game. There is more to come from the Giallazzurri and will use this fixture to showcase their talent and ability to collect another important three points. Frosinone to win away from home.

Monza vs Udinese (16:00)

Monza ended their four-match unbeaten streak with a narrow 1-0 defeat to Roma. The Biancorossi do play well at home and have scored five goals and only conceded a single goal across their last four fixtures at home. This is a must-win as they want to climb back into the top half of the table. After nine games, Udinese is just one point away from the relegation zone and has five points. Before this game, the Friulians had made no progress after three consecutive draws. If you approach this game with the right attitude and determination, you can turn these draws into a win and three very important points. Let's go back to the home win here.

Inter vs Roma (19:00)

Inter stayed in first place for another week in a row, defeating Torino with a comfortable 3-0 win. It's clear to say that Milan are serious title contender and with just one defeat in their last six games against Roma it shows that Milan has dominated this game and a home game could give them the extra advantage they need to to win. Roma goes into this important game confident after three wins in a row. The Giallorossi's form gives them the best chance of facing Inter. Houssem Aouar, Paulo Dybala, and captain Lorenzo Pellegrini must play a Serie A game that day to end Inter's dominance. Inter will be too strong at home and win, Milan will win.

Napoli vs Milan (9:45 p.m.)

Napoli returns to winning ways after the sensational defeat against Fiorentina with a 3-1 win against Verona. The Azzurri will have an extra fire in their stomachs as they look to make amends for past mistakes against a familiar rival. Controlling the tempo of the game and dictating the game will be key to their success in front of their home crowd. AC Milan lost 1-0 in their last game against Juventus, ending a run of four straight games *unbeaten. After nine games, the Rossoneri are in second place with 21 points. The recent improvement in Napoli's situation will allow Milan to attack Napoli decisively in the hope of returning to winning ways. It could go either way and in this case, I see it as a draw.

Monday, October 30th

Empoli vs Atalanta (7.30pm)

Empoli’s fortunes have changed in recent games, picking up four points in their last three games. The Azzurri are just one point above the relegation zone and need another good performance and three points to avoid a relegation battle. Atalanta is in last place in Europe after beating Genoa 2-0. After nine games played, the Nerazzurri are still going strong but they are starting to get back on their feet and are looking to add another three points to their tally. Atalanta will win confidently.

Lazio vs Fiorentina (9:45 p.m.)

Lazio is making steady progress after a shocking start to the new season. They go into this home game strong with two very important wins against Sassuolo and Atalanta. Playing at home gives them the freedom to express themselves and express themselves to make a difference and get another three points. Fiorentina wants to avoid a second defeat after their last defeat against Empoli. Vincenzo Italiano will not be happy with the way his team managed to end a four-game unbeaten run and will use this game with extreme caution and confidence to get back to winning ways and record their fourth away win of the season. It will be a hard-fought game and I think Lazio will take home the three points.
