Italy stun Scotland for first Six Nations home win in 11 years

Italy stunned Scotland in a seven-try thriller at the euphoric Stadio Olimpico, winning their first Six Nations home game in 11 years and ending the visitors' slim title hopes.
The Scots got off to a fast start with tries from Zander Fagerson, Kyle Steyn, and Pierre Schoeman, but a superb Juan Ignacio Brex score and additional points from the tee kept the deficit at six points by halftime.
In the second half, only one team was involved, as a fired-up Azzurri flew out of the blocks, taking the lead thanks to scores from debutant Louis Lynagh and substitute Stephen Varney before holding off a late Scottish surge when Sam Skinner crossed with two minutes remaining.
Italy's first Six Nations victory since 2022, and their first in Rome since defeating Ireland in 2013, elicited scenes of unbridled joy and emotion from blue-shirted players who collapsed to the ground in tears.
