ITF names Djokovic and Sabalenka the 2023 "world champions" following their Grand Slam victories.

Djokovic received the men's singles award for an unprecedented eighth time, having triumphed in three out of the four major tournaments, according to an announcement by the game's global governing body.
With this victory, the Serbian tennis player has now accumulated a total of 24 Grand Slam titles, equalling Margaret Court's record for the most major singles crowns.
Additionally, Djokovic secured the ATP Finals title for a remarkable seventh time, concluding the year as the number one ranked player.
On the other hand, Sabalenka emerged victorious in her first-ever major tournament at the Australian Open. She also reached the final at the U.S. Open and made it to the semi-finals at both the French Open and Wimbledon.
Despite narrowly missing out on the year-end top spot to Iga Swiatek at the WTA Finals, the Belarusian player expressed her delight at being named the world champion for 2023. She described the year as "incredible" and eagerly anticipated returning to the court for the upcoming season in January, as stated in the ITF release.
In the men's doubles category, Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury claimed the award after securing their third consecutive U.S. Open title. Meanwhile, Storm Hunter and Elise Mertens, who were the runners-up at Wimbledon, emerged as the winners of the women's doubles title.
