Jaiswal and Kishan help India thrash Australia to go 2-0 up

In a spectacular display of batting prowess, opening duo Yashasvi Jaiswal (21) and Ishan Kishan (25) orchestrated India's commanding 44-run triumph over Australia in the second Twenty20 international on Sunday.

Jaiswal's explosive 25-ball 53, complemented by Kishan's 52 off 32 deliveries, propelled India to a formidable 235-4 after opting to bat in Thiruvananthapuram.

Spinner Ravi Bishnoi and pace bowler Prasidh Krishna shared the limelight, claiming three wickets each, as the hosts restricted Australia to 191-9, securing a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.

The batting spectacle unfolded with Jaiswal laying the foundation for India's imposing total, ably supported by Ruturaj Gaikwad's 58 and Rinku Singh's unbeaten blitz of 31 off nine balls.

India's skipper, Suryakumar Yadav, praised the team's approach, stating, "The boys are not putting too much pressure on me. They are taking onus." He emphasized the strategic decision to bat first, considering the prevalent dew conditions, and expressed confidence in defending the target.

Jaiswal, named the man of the match, shared his elation, saying, "It was really special for me. I was trying to play all my shots. Was trying to be fearless. I was sure of my decisions."

Australia's chase faced early setbacks, losing key wickets, including Steve Smith and Josh Inglis. Despite a spirited effort from Tim David (37) and Marcus Stoinis (45), Bishnoi's leg-spin dismantled their partnership, leading to Krishna's crucial wickets and ultimately stifling Australia's hopes.

Reflecting on the match, Australia's coach, Andre Borovec, lamented the team's struggle to execute decisions in critical moments, despite making the right calls.
