Jessica Pegula stuns world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka; advances to WTA Finals semi-finals.

Jessica Pegula defeated World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka 6-4, 6-3 on Tuesday at the GNP Seguros WTA Finals Cancun.
The win, combined with Elena Rybakina's win over Maria Sakkari, means Pegula will win the Bacalar Group and advance to Saturday's semifinals.
Pegula improved to 49-0 this season after winning the first set and an impressive 7-4 against Top 10 opponents.
Sabalenka fought off two break points in her first service game, but Pegula broke through at 2-all. Sabalenka was in a love-40 hold after two double faults, and a wide forehand gave Pegula her first significant lead.
It happened again with Sabalenka serving at 2-4 when she lashed a backhand wide. Pegula closed out the set at the second attempt with a fantastic backhand that Sabalenka was unable to dig out.
Pegula generated 14 break points and broke serve five times during the match. She accomplished this by maintaining an aggressive return position and landing 86% of her first-serve returns.
Sabalenka dropped her first two service games in the second set, falling behind 4-0 before holding serve twice.
With Pegula serving at 5-3, she created two match points but lost both, one on a double fault. Sabalenka then lost her first three service points, but saved four more match points before Pegula closed it out.
