Josi, Stamkos, and Nyquist lead Predators to 5-2 Win Over Avalanche

Roman Josi, Steven Stamkos, and Gustav Nyquist each contributed a goal and an assist as the Nashville Predators halted their two-game skid with a decisive 5-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche. Nashville’s Colton Sissons and Filip Forsberg also found the back of the net, while goalie Juuse Saros made 28 saves to secure the victory.

Cale Makar and Nathan MacKinnon were bright spots for Colorado, each recording a goal and an assist. Goaltender Justus Annunen had 20 saves, but it wasn’t enough as the Avalanche dropped their third consecutive game.

Avalanche’s PK Struggles

Colorado’s penalty kill, ranked 25th coming into the game, allowed Nashville to score on both power-play opportunities, dipping their PK success rate below 70%.

Predators’ Depth Scoring

Colton Sissons notched his first point in 11 games, a promising sign for Nashville as they work to develop more consistent secondary scoring options.

Sissons’ late goal in the second period (1:20 remaining) gave Nashville a lead heading into the intermission, a rare position for them this season. Additionally, MacKinnon and Makar each extended their points streak to 12 games, the second-longest season-opening streak by a forward-defenseman duo, trailing only Phil Esposito and Bobby Orr’s 15-game streak in 1973-74.

The Avalanche look to rebound when they host the Seattle Kraken on Tuesday, while the Predators will face the Los Angeles Kings at home on Monday.
