Juventus 0-0 Genoa: Vlahovic sees red as 10-man Juve continue poor form with bore draw at home

Juventus' disappointing streak persisted as Dusan Vlahovic was sent off in the closing stages of the match, resulting in a lackluster goalless draw at home against a resilient Genoa team. This result means Juventus has only managed to secure one victory in their past eight Serie A fixtures.
In an attempt to put an end to their 33-year wait for an away league victory against Juventus, Genoa made a promising start by threatening to score in the seventh minute at the Allianz Stadium.
Albert Gudmundsson's powerful free-kick was met by Matti Bani, whose clever header forced Wojciech Szczesny to make a crucial save at full stretch.
Szczesny's counterpart, Josep Martinez, had little to do in the opening quarter of the match, but eventually had to make a routine stop from Federico Gatti's long-range strike.
To be honest, the home team struggled to find their rhythm in the first half, resulting in them going into halftime with the score level, as has been the case in 10 out of their 15 home league games this season.
With Juventus showing no signs of improvement in the early stages of the second half, Massimiliano Allegri decided to make a triple substitution, bringing on Adrien Rabiot, Kenan Yildiz, and Samuel Iling-Junior.
Iling-Junior came close to making an immediate impact, hitting the post with a low left-footed shot. Vlahovic also had a chance to increase his tally of 15 league goals, but narrowly missed the target with a header from Andrea Cambiaso's excellent cross.
The two players combined again shortly after, but Vlahovic failed to find the back of the net from another inviting delivery from Juventus' 24-year-old wing-back.
The hosts were left to rue another missed opportunity when substitute Moise Kean's powerful strike hit the post in the 90th minute.
Juventus' frustration reached its peak in stoppage time, as Vlahovic received two quick yellow cards, leaving his team with 10 men for the remaining minutes of the match.
Genoa failed to capitalize on the advantage of the late red card, however, they demonstrated remarkable resilience to secure a point in their away encounter with Juve, a feat they hadn't achieved since October 2018.
On the other hand, the Old Lady remains in third position as they missed the opportunity to overtake AC Milan and claim second place.
