Juventus 2-0 AC Milan: Juve defeat Rossoneri to extend unbeaten Serie A run to 21 games

Juventus extended their unbeaten Serie A streak to 21 matches and climbed into the top four after a 2-0 home win over AC Milan on Saturday, thanks to second-half goals from Samuel Mbangula and Timothy Weah.

Mbangula opened the scoring just before the hour mark with a stunning curled shot that hit the crossbar and went in. Weah then doubled the lead in the 64th minute, securing the victory for Juventus.

With the win, Juventus, the only unbeaten team in Europe's top five leagues alongside Paris Saint-Germain, moved up to fourth in the Serie A standings with 37 points. Milan, who suffered their first defeat under new manager Sergio Conceicao, remained in eighth place with 31 points, although they have a game in hand.

Milan were missing their star winger, Christian Pulisic, who is sidelined due to injury, and striker Alvaro Morata, who was suspended. Tammy Abraham and Yunus Musah filled in, but Milan struggled to break down Juventus' defense.

The first half ended goalless despite several good opportunities for both sides. Milan’s Rafael Leao had a chance, while Juventus’ Kenan Yildiz also came close to scoring.

Juventus took control in the second half, and Mbangula’s 59th-minute goal broke the deadlock. The shot, which followed a deflection off Milan defender Emerson Royal, hit the crossbar before finding the back of the net. Weah then added a second just five minutes later, finishing a solo run with a low shot past Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan.

This win marked Juventus' fourth consecutive clean sheet against Milan in Serie A, their best defensive run against the Rossoneri. Their last competitive win over Milan at home came in November 2019.
