Juventus 3-0 Sassuolo: Vlahovic double sees Juve defeat visitors and keep pace with Inter at the top of the table

Federico Chiesa sealed the deal by scoring the final goal, as Juventus extended their undefeated streak to 17 games with a commanding 3-0 win over Sassuolo. This victory allows them to maintain their pursuit of Inter Milan at the top of the Serie A table, as they strive to secure their first Scudetto since the 2019/20 season.
After commemorating his 400th game in charge of Juventus last week, Massimiliano Allegri's 401st game got off to an excellent start. While it wouldn't be entirely accurate to say that Juve dominated from the beginning, they certainly deserved their early goal.
It came about through a swift counterattack, resulting in Dusan Vlahovic curling a magnificent strike from the edge of the area into the back of the net.
Shortly after, Sassuolo came close to equalizing when Armand Laurienté unleashed a powerful shot from distance, forcing Wojciech Szczesny to make a brilliant save.
However, the visitors soon discovered the harsh reality of squandering such opportunities against the Bianconeri. Vlahovic, in Ronaldo-esque fashion, doubled his tally with a stunning free-kick that kissed the underside of the crossbar before finding the back of the net in the 37th minute.
Although Sassuolo needed a miracle in the second half to turn the game around, they did manage to test Szczesny once again when Domenico Berardi's long-range effort was denied by the goalkeeper's fine save. This highlighted the struggles Sassuolo faced in breaking down Juventus' defense.
Unwilling to rest on their laurels, Juventus continued to push forward, with Timothy Weah missing an opportunity to further extend their lead. However, the second half was largely uneventful, with only three shots on target between the two teams, reflecting their difficulties in finding the back of the net.
Securing victory was crucial for the Bianconeri, who sealed their triumph in the dying moments of the match when Chiesa scored. This win allows them to keep pace with Inter at the top of the Serie A table.
On the other hand, the situation looks much bleaker for Sassuolo, who find themselves just two points above the relegation zone. After suffering their 10th defeat in 12 visits to Turin, they are becoming increasingly vulnerable.
