Kansas Jayhawks make FBS history with 37-21 upset over Colorado

The Kansas Jayhawks have made history as the first team in FBS to secure three consecutive victories against ranked opponents despite having a losing record, achieving this feat by defeating the 16th-ranked Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday.

In their 37-21 triumph over Colorado, Kansas was propelled by running back Devin Neal, who amassed an impressive 207 rushing yards on 37 attempts, in addition to 80 receiving yards and four total touchdowns. Neal initiated the scoring for the Jayhawks, setting the tone for the game.

Kansas quarterback Jalon Daniels completed 14 of 21 passes for 189 yards, contributing one touchdown and adding 72 rushing yards on six carries.

The Jayhawks demonstrated offensive dominance, accumulating 520 total yards compared to Colorado's 308, while also controlling the clock with 40:11 of possession against the Buffaloes' 19:49.

This victory marks Kansas' third consecutive win over ranked teams, following earlier successes against 14th-ranked BYU and 22nd-ranked Iowa State. Currently, the Jayhawks hold a record of 5-6 for the season and aim to conclude their campaign with a .500 record in their upcoming match against Baylor on November 30th.

On the other side, Colorado quarterback Shadeur Sanders completed 23 of 29 passes for 266 yards and three touchdowns. He also led the team in rushing with a modest four carries for 26 yards, indicating that the Buffaloes were consistently in a position of needing to catch up to Kansas.

Star wide receiver Travis Hunter recorded eight receptions for 125 yards and two touchdowns, furthering his Heisman candidacy in competition with Boise State's running back Ashton Jeanty.
