Kepu calls time on decorated career

Former Australia prop Sekope Kepu has announced his retirement at the conclusion of the Super Rugby Pacific season, marking the end of a well-traveled career at 38 years old.
Kepu, who represented the Wallabies 110 times and participated in three consecutive World Cups from 2011 to 2019, clinched a Super Rugby title with the New South Wales Waratahs in 2014 under the guidance of Michael Cheika.
In addition to his successful career in Australia, the seasoned tighthead prop also had various playing stints in Europe before taking on the role of the inaugural captain for the Super Rugby Pacific team Moana Pasifika in 2022.
Expressing his gratitude, Kepu acknowledged his wife and four children for their unwavering support and sacrifices throughout his career.
"I'm forever grateful for their love and support over the years," he stated. "I've been very fortunate that my kids have been able to watch dad play.
Now it's time for dad to be their taxi driver to their sports games on the weekends."
As he prepares to bid farewell to professional rugby, Kepu aims to conclude his career on a high note by securing victories for Moana Pasifika, who still have a slim chance of making it to the playoffs despite a 3-9 record.
This Saturday, he will come off the bench against his former team, the Waratahs, in a crucial match where both sides will be vying to extend their season with a win, pending favorable outcomes from other fixtures.
