Kirk Cousins leads Atlanta Falcons to win over Philadelphia Eagles

Kirk Cousins, at the age of 36, orchestrated an impressive game-winning touchdown drive, leading the Atlanta Falcons to a stunning 22-21 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday.
The Eagles appeared to have secured their unbeaten record for the season after Jake Elliott's 28-yard field goal extended their lead to 21-15 with just 1 minute and 39 seconds left in the game at Lincoln Financial Field.
However, veteran quarterback Cousins, eager to redeem himself following a disappointing debut for the Falcons in their week one loss to Pittsburgh, had other plans.
With no timeouts remaining, Cousins took command and propelled Atlanta 70 yards down the field in a mere 65 seconds, connecting with Drake London in the end zone for the game-tying touchdown at 21-21.
Following a penalty for excessive celebration, Younghoe Koo successfully converted a 48-yard extra point, giving Atlanta a one-point lead.
The Eagles still had an opportunity to reclaim the game, but quarterback Jalen Hurts' attempts to advance Philadelphia into field goal range culminated in an interception by Jessie Bates.
"I didn't feel sharp enough today, nor accurate enough, so I need to improve," Cousins remarked. "However, that final drive should provide us with a boost. We can build on that."
He further noted, "There is much that is new, and it requires time. I was pleased with how we concluded tonight, but there remains significant room for improvement," referring to his transition from the Minnesota Vikings to Atlanta on a four-year, $180 million contract signed in March.
Meanwhile, the Eagles were left lamenting a missed opportunity to secure victory in the closing moments of the fourth quarter.
Running back Saquon Barkley failed to catch a straightforward pass from Hurts that would have granted the Eagles a fresh set of downs with less than two minutes remaining, while the Falcons were out of timeouts.
Instead of being able to run down the clock, Philadelphia had to settle for an Elliott field goal, inadvertently providing Atlanta and Cousins with the opportunity to achieve a remarkable victory.
In the earlier stages of the game, defensive strategies prevailed during a cautious first half, resulting in Philadelphia holding a narrow 7-6 advantage at halftime, following a touchdown reception by DeVonta Smith on a seven-yard pass from Hurts.
Atlanta's scoring in the first half was limited to two field goals by Koo, which were recorded on either side of Philadelphia's touchdown.
Koo successfully converted his third field goal of the match early in the third quarter from a distance of 34 yards, allowing Atlanta to take a 9-7 lead.
In response, Philadelphia regained the lead with a 29-yard field goal from Elliott, making the score 10-9 in their favor.
Cousins orchestrated a 70-yard offensive drive that concluded with a 42-yard touchdown pass to Darnell Mooney, putting Atlanta ahead at 15-10.
The Eagles appeared to gain momentum when Hurts scored on a one-yard rush, followed by Barkley's successful two-point conversion, which elevated their score to 18-15.
Elliott's subsequent field goal increased Philadelphia's lead to six points; however, Cousins executed a rapid late-game drive that ultimately quieted the home crowd.
