Lamar Jackson leads Ravens to comeback victory over Bengals

Lamar Jackson threw four touchdown passes as the Baltimore Ravens executed a remarkable second-half comeback to secure a 35-34 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in the NFL on Thursday.

Just a month after Baltimore triumphed over the Bengals 41-38 in a thrilling encounter, the two AFC North rivals engaged in another high-scoring battle at the Ravens' M&T Bank Stadium.

Jackson, the Ravens' quarterback, completed 25 of 33 passes for 290 yards and four touchdowns, while Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow matched him with four touchdowns and 428 passing yards, without any interceptions.

"It was a video game type of game," Jackson expressed with relief. "I get tired of them, but it is what it is."

The Bengals appeared ready to avenge their previous loss when Chase Brown scored on a rushing touchdown, followed by two touchdown passes from Burrow, establishing a 21-7 lead for Cincinnati early in the third quarter.

However, Jackson quickly took charge, orchestrating a five-play drive that culminated in running back Derrick Henry scoring a touchdown, narrowing the gap to 21-14 after Justin Tucker's extra point.

As the fourth quarter began, the Bengals found themselves in a precarious position when Jackson connected with Tyler Wallace for an 84-yard touchdown, bringing the Ravens within one point at 21-20.

Another swift drive by the Ravens concluded with Jackson delivering a pass to Mark Andrews, allowing Baltimore to take a 26-21 lead.

Jackson then executed a two-point conversion, seemingly shifting the momentum firmly in favor of the Ravens.

Nevertheless, Burrow and the Bengals were not finished.

On the very first play of their subsequent drive, receiver Ja'Marr Chase exploited a defensive lapse, sprinting free to catch a precise pass from Burrow for a 70-yard touchdown.

Evan McPherson's extra point leveled the score, but Baltimore remained composed as Jackson led the Ravens on a 70-yard, 11-play drive, ultimately finding Rashod Bateman for a touchdown that reclaimed the lead for the home team with less than two minutes left in the game.

The conclusion of the game was filled with tension as Burrow once again led the Bengals down the field, exploiting the nervous defense of the Ravens before delivering a precise pass to Chase in the back of the end zone for a touchdown.

An extra point would have leveled the score and possibly led to overtime; however, the Bengals opted for a daring two-point conversion attempt.

This decision proved unsuccessful, as Burrow's throw to tight end Tanner Hudson was incomplete, effectively sealing the outcome of the match.

With this victory, Baltimore improved to 7-3, maintaining their position in second place in the AFC North, trailing only Pittsburgh (6-2). The Bengals, on the other hand, dropped to 4-6 and currently sit third in the division.
