Las Palmas 1-2 Real Madrid: Los Blancos secure crucial victory against Las Palmas to leapfrog Girona into top spot

Real Madrid ascended to the summit of LaLiga standings following a remarkable comeback from a goal deficit, securing a hard-earned 2-1 victory against Las Palmas. This triumph further extends their impressive unbeaten streak of seven matches on away grounds (W5, D2).

Garcia Pimienta's team has proven to be a formidable opponent at Estadio Gran Canaria this season, providing their passionate fans with a reason to be hopeful. Alberto Moleiro's shot, which was deflected, narrowly missed the goal, and Munir El Haddadi's header from the subsequent corner went wide.

Los Amarillos were determined to challenge their esteemed hosts, resulting in Rodrygo receiving a yellow card during a confrontation with goalkeeper Alvaro Valles after being denied a one-on-one opportunity.

Antonio Rudiger would have been disappointed as he failed to connect properly with Fran Garcia's free-kick, with the ball bouncing off his shoulder and going out for a goal kick.

Pimienta's team held their own in the match, with Sergi Cardona's attempt sailing over the bar and Vinicius Junior narrowly missing the target at the other end during an intriguing first half.

Las Palmas' efforts were valiant, but they were unable to produce a shot on target during the first half. However, the situation changed when El Haddadi made his way into the box from the right side and forced a remarkable save from Andriy Lunin at his near post.

The stadium erupted with a deafening cheer when Javi Munoz broke the deadlock with a first-time strike that deflected off Nacho Fernandez before beating Lunin.

Shortly after, Dani Carvajal's equalizing goal was rightfully disallowed for offside. Nevertheless, Vinicius managed to restore parity in the 65th minute.

Toni Kroos and Eduardo Camavinga displayed exceptional teamwork to set up the Brazilian, who unleashed a magnificent left-footed strike from an angled position, leaving Valles helpless.

Carlo Ancelott's team wasn't finished yet, as substitute Aurelien Tchouameni rose above everyone else from a Kroos corner and headed the ball into the net, securing all three points for the visitors with 84 minutes on the clock.

Although it wasn't a vintage performance from Ancelotti's side, it proved to be enough to claim the victory and move Los Blancos two points ahead of Girona in the standings before their upcoming match against Celta Vigo on Sunday.
