Las Vegas GP: Max Verstappen wins his fourth consecutive Formula 1 title

Max Verstappen, aged 27, has secured his fourth Formula 1 world championship by finishing ahead of Lando Norris, 25, in Las Vegas, thereby ensuring his position at the top of the standings remains unassailable before the season concludes.
This achievement places the Red Bull driver among an elite group, as he becomes only the sixth individual in the sport's history to claim at least four titles, equaling the records of Alain Prost and Sebastian Vettel.
He now trails only Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton, both with seven titles, and Juan Manuel Fangio, who has five.
Among this distinguished group, Verstappen is the second youngest to achieve this milestone, following Vettel, who, like Verstappen, won all four of his championships with Red Bull.
This season, Verstappen faced a more formidable challenge in securing the title compared to his previous two, primarily due to the competition from Norris and McLaren, whose significant advancements have made their car the fastest on the grid.
Nevertheless, a combination of fortunate circumstances, mistakes from Norris and his team, along with Verstappen's exceptional skill, ensured that the championship title remained firmly in his grasp, with a consistently comfortable lead in the standings.
