Late Mbappe Goal Secures PSG's 3-2 Victory Over Brest in a Thrilling Encounter

Paris Saint-Germain emerged triumphant in a hard-fought battle against Brest, with Kylian Mbappe's late heroics sealing a dramatic 3-2 victory on a Sunday afternoon.
The game witnessed an early surge from PSG, with goals by Warren Zaire-Emery and Mbappe, marking his 250th club-level goal, propelling the team to a commanding lead in the first half. However, Brest retaliated just before half-time, leveling the score and later drawing even early in the second half.
Despite Brest dominating much of the second half and missing several scoring opportunities, it was Mbappe's last-minute goal off the rebound from his own saved penalty that secured PSG's win.
The match opened with an intense moment when Lee Kang-in's powerful strike was parried to Bradley Barcola, but PSG missed the chance. Despite Brest's early pressure, PSG regained control through Zaire-Emery's spectacular long-range goal, followed by Mbappe's deflected shot.
Brest fought back admirably before the break, as Steve Mounie headed in a cross from Kenny Lala, reducing PSG's lead. In the second half, Jeremy Le Douaron scored from a corner, leveling the game, with Brest continuing to pressure PSG's defense.
Brest had opportunities to take the lead, notably when Mounie missed a chance and Le Douaron squandered two clear opportunities. PSG found themselves under pressure for most of the second half.
In the closing minutes, VAR review led to a penalty awarded for PSG after a foul on Randal Kolo Muani. Although Bizot saved Mbappe's penalty, the Frenchman secured victory by converting the rebound, ensuring PSG claimed all three points.
