LeBron, Bronny James make NBA history as the first father-son duo to appear in an NBA game together.

LeBron (39) and Bronny James (20) achieved a historic milestone in the NBA on Tuesday, becoming the first father-son pair to compete together in a regular season game as the Los Angeles Lakers commenced their season against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The pair had previously shared the court briefly during a pre-season match earlier this month and took to the floor together late in the second quarter at the Crypto.com Arena, with the Lakers leading 51-35.
A tremendous cheer erupted from the home crowd as Coach J.J. Redick introduced the James duo onto the court following the Lakers' impressive double-digit lead.
In a moment reminiscent of a Hollywood script, the James duo was observed courtside by Ken Griffey Sr. and Ken Griffey Jr., who made baseball history as a father-son team while playing for the Seattle Mariners in 1990-1991.
"We made history; now we get to watch history," remarked Griffey Jr., who, alongside his father, posed for photographs with LeBron and Bronny James shortly before the game commenced.
Prior to the season opener, Lakers officials had been discreet regarding the timing and circumstances of LeBron and Bronny's first regular season appearance together.
However, NBA superstar LeBron James, who will turn 40 in December, expressed his overwhelming excitement in pre-game comments about fulfilling his long-held dream of playing alongside his son.
"Just to run out of the tunnel knowing that he'll be in uniform, to run out with him, see him warm up, and be out there with my teammates," James shared with reporters during a morning shoot-around on Tuesday.
"This marks my 22nd opening night, and I am uncertain how many more opportunities I will have to experience this. I will not take it for granted."
The anticipation surrounding the James duo has been a focal point of the Lakers' preparations for the new season since Bronny James was selected by the franchise with the 55th pick in the draft in June.
It has been a delightful experience.
Bronny James is anticipated to spend the majority of his rookie season in the developmental G-League rather than with the senior Lakers team.
LeBron James, however, expressed on Tuesday that he has thoroughly enjoyed accompanying his son as he embarks on his professional basketball journey.
"It has been a delightful experience, especially during preseason, the practices, and every single day," James remarked. "The plane rides and bus rides spent with him, guiding him alongside his teammates and coaches, have illustrated what this professional life entails and how to prepare each day ... truly remarkable."
The rise of Bronny James to the NBA has been particularly impressive, especially considering that just over a year ago, he experienced a cardiac arrest during a workout with his University of Southern California teammates.
James Sr. stated that his son's rapid recovery from that critical incident convinced him that Bronny would eventually play in the NBA.
"To witness him compete in a college Division I game in the same year he underwent heart surgery ... I realized at that moment that nothing would hinder him from achieving his aspirations," James noted.
At the recent Lakers media day, Bronny mentioned that he draws motivation from the critics who claim his position on the Lakers roster is solely due to his father's fame.
"I am channeling all that criticism and backlash into something that can drive me forward," he stated.
