Lebron James Leads Lakers To The In-Season Tournament Semifinals

Anthony Davis recorded an impressive 27 points and 15 rebounds, while Austin Reaves contributed 20 points for the Lakers, who hold the top seed. They are set to face New Orleans in Las Vegas on Thursday. On the other hand, Milwaukee will be playing against Indiana in the East semifinal.
LeBron James, who also had an outstanding performance with 11 assists, eight rebounds, and five steals, expressed the competitive nature of the players involved. He emphasized the significance of playing for something meaningful or having an incentive, which brings out the best in them. James acknowledged the In-Season Tournament as an opportunity to showcase their skills on a grand stage, representing their families, communities, and roots.
During the game, James displayed his shooting prowess, particularly in the final period, where he scored 15 of the Lakers' first 19 points. He also provided assists for his teammates' two other baskets, propelling Los Angeles to take the lead.
Despite Kevin Durant's impressive 31-point performance, the Suns fell short as he missed a crucial long-range 3-point attempt at the buzzer. Phoenix had been performing well, winning eight of their last ten games, but Los Angeles proved to be their kryptonite for the third time this season.
Devin Booker managed to narrow the Lakers' lead to 102-101 with a layup in the final seconds. However, Reaves sealed the victory for the Lakers by sinking his third 3-pointer with 15 seconds remaining.
In a controversial moment, the Suns were left frustrated when officials granted James a timeout while the ball seemed to be loose after Booker had knocked it away from Reaves. Phoenix coach Frank Vogel expressed his dissatisfaction, stating that a timeout should not have been called on a loose ball. Vogel questioned why this particular situation couldn't be reviewed, considering that most aspects of the game are subject to review. He described the turn of events as frustrating.
Reaves, on the other hand, acknowledged that Booker may have fouled him just before the timeout was granted. He credited James for making a high-IQ play, something he has done countless times before.
Durant, unlike his coach, did not share the same level of anger towards the call. He mentioned that he did not initially notice the situation.
