Lecce 0-4 Inter Milan: Lautaro Martinez at the double as Nerazzurri cruise past Lecce

Inter Milan extended their advantage to nine points at the summit of the Serie A table and secured their tenth successive triumph in the process. Lautaro Martínez's unstoppable double was the highlight of their impressive 4-0 victory against Lecce at Stadio Via del Mare.
Following their victory over Atlético Madrid in the UEFA Champions League earlier in the week, Simone Inzaghi decided to make a significant change to his starting line-up, with a total of eight alterations.
This risky move paid off within just 15 minutes, as Kristjan Asllani made a powerful run through the center and delivered a precise through ball to Lautaro Martínez. Martínez successfully evaded the offside trap and calmly slotted the ball past Wladimiro Falcone.
In addition to Martínez's match-winning goal, this also marked his third consecutive opening goal in the last four matches. However, the attention soon shifted to Alexis Sánchez, the influential South American player, who made a significant impact midway through the first half.
Sánchez won the ball deep in Lecce's territory and provided a cross for Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Unfortunately, Mkhitaryan's shot narrowly missed the target.
To be fair, the home team gradually grew into the game as the first half progressed. However, they failed to truly challenge Emil Audero, the goalkeeper for Inter, before the halftime whistle.
Audero had a stroke of luck just a minute into the second half when Antonino Gallo's cross found Alexis Blin, who attempted a powerful header that narrowly missed the post. Audero was left rooted to the spot, relieved to see the ball go wide.
However, Lecce's missed opportunity came back to haunt them eight minutes later. Sánchez and Martínez combined effectively on the right side, with the former delivering a simple pass across the six-yard box to Davide Frattesi, who made no mistake with the close-range finish.
Within a matter of seconds, the number of players on the field changed from two to three. Frattesi swiftly picked up the ball near the halfway line and sprinted down the right side without facing any challenges.
He then passed the ball across to Martínez, who skillfully shot it past Falcone, securing his second brace of the year during an away game.
The fourth goal arrived with a little over a quarter of the match remaining. Centre-back Stefan de Vrij leaped highest to meet Federico Dimarco's corner kick, scoring his first goal of the season.
Throughout the evening, the Nerazzurri's unbeaten away record was hardly threatened, extending their undefeated streak to 12 matches.
On the other hand, despite Lameck Banda and Roberto Piccoli coming close to scoring a consolation goal, their team, led by Roberto D'Aversa, suffered their third consecutive loss without finding the back of the net. This result means they have only managed to win one out of their last 10 matches.
