Leicester City 0-1 Leeds United: Georginio Rutter's strike ends Foxes' nine-game winning streak

Leeds won 1-0 against Sky Bet Championship leaders Leicester, thanks to Georginio Rutter, as Daniel Farke's side moved closer to challenging the top two.

The result keeps Leicester 11 points ahead of third-placed Leeds, but it will be viewed as a statement victory against a team that has dominated the division this season.

In the first half, Abdul Fatawu hit the crossbar, and Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier saved a stoppage-time header from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. However, Leicester only had one shot on goal as they suffered their second home defeat of the season.

Leicester, five points clear at the top, had been chasing a tenth consecutive victory and were looking to match Bristol City's best-ever start to a second-tier season since 1905-06.

Leeds, on the other hand, went head-to-head with Enzo Maresca's team. They were rewarded when Rutter scored the game-winning goal after 57 minutes.

Leeds nearly added a second with 17 minutes remaining when Daniel James broke free, but Mads Hermansen smothered his low drive.

Leicester pressed the Leeds goal in the closing stages but were unable to find an equalizer.
