Leicester Women sack manager Kirk over alleged relationship with player

Leicester City Women have terminated the contract of manager Willie Kirk due to a violation of their code of conduct, as confirmed by the Women's Super League club on Thursday.

An internal investigation was conducted following reports in the British media regarding an alleged relationship between Kirk and a player.

After a thorough disciplinary process, it was concluded that Kirk's actions breached the team's code of conduct to an extent that rendered his position untenable.

Kirk had previously served as the director of football before becoming the City manager in November 2022.

Assistant manager Jennifer Foster will assume temporary charge of the team while the club seeks a permanent replacement.

Currently positioned ninth in the WSL standings, Leicester will face Aston Villa in their upcoming match on Saturday.
